Here for you !
...Because we know that managing your diabetes with insulin can be frustrating, and often cannot wait for the next office visit.
The Insulin Clinic does not “take over” your diabetes care or “replace” your routine provider and availability is not always guaranteed, however it is a compassionate effort to reduce the risk of persistent hypoglycemia, uncontrolled hyperglycemia, diabetes-related complications, and associated emergency room visits, when possible, among diabetic patients in Virginia. Diabetes is very much prevalent in Virginia and patients treated with insulin often have unpredictable issues with their blood sugars which cannot wait until the next routine office visit. In this context, the Insulin Clinic strives to function as a “bridge” assisting insulin-treated diabetics as needed, when possible, until they are seen by their routine diabetes provider. A “waiting list” and the opportunity for an “after hours” visit by request may soon become available to improve availability in the future. The Insulin Clinic does NOT manage Emergencies. If you have an emergency please call 911. Insulin is the only medicine that is managed, and urgent refills can be provided when needed. A 1-2 week home blood sugar log MUST be entered into our portal just before any visit (you will be guided). All forms, insulin pump and continuous glucose sensor supplies (among other similar items) must continue to be managed by the full service office of your primary diabetes provider. There is one cash fee of $99 for all patients, aiming to provide & improve accessibility to as many as need this endocrinology service. Requires ability to interact online with telehealth technologies. I believe you will have a great experience if you ever need to visit.
May the Lord Jesus bless you abundantly this season.
